Live Metal is a canceled release which would of been the first live album by HIM released in 2003. The package was going to originally include a live CD and DVD filmed during the band's seven night stand at the Semifinal Club in Helsinki, Finland between April 24th to April 30th, 2003.
The live footage was recorded during the band's No Sleep Till Vaappu tour and planned for a release later in 2003. After much delay it was announced on November 13th, 2003 at Heartagram.com that it wouldn't be released this year and the live footage might show up in some capacity on a release in the future. Six songs from these shows were later released on the bonus DVD titled, Live at the Semifinal which accompanied the UK release of And Love Said No. They're were also again re-released on Love Metal Archives Vol. I.
The reason it was canceled was that the band decided instead to go back into the studio in December to record some new material for a single release in early 2004, which was "And Love Said No" and "Solitary Man" along with videos being shot. This was followed up by the release of the And Love Said No compilation in connection with an upcoming German tour.
